Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using OAU-Commerce, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Description of Service
OAU-Commerce is a campus marketplace and student forum mobile application for the Obafemi Awolowo University community. It enables users to buy and sell products and services, discover student-run businesses, follow Student Union announcements, post campus ads, and message sellers directly.
User Accounts
You must be a student or member of the OAU community to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
Listings and Content
Sellers are responsible for ensuring listing information is accurate, lawful, and complete. OAU-Commerce is a platform connecting buyers and sellers; we are not liable for transactions, disputes, or losses between users.
Payments
All payments are processed via Paystack, Nigeria's trusted payment gateway. Users may top up an in-app wallet to pay for listings, activate ads, and complete purchases. Listing activation fees are non-refundable.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to post fake listings, harass other users, list illegal items, post nudity or sexually explicit content, or engage in spam or fraudulent behavior. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
Intellectual Property
OAU-Commerce owns the platform, branding, and software. Users retain ownership of the content they post, but grant OAU-Commerce a non-exclusive license to display that content within the app.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in conduct harmful to the community, with or without prior notice.
Limitation of Liability
OAU-Commerce is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
